Ingredients

  • 5 pounds fresh lemons about 2 cups fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups water for syrup
  • Cold water to dilute for serving

Equipment

  • Citrus Juicer
  • Strainer
  • Medium Saucepan
  • Large Measuring Cup
  • Wooden Spoon or Whisk
  • Pitcher

Method

  1. Wash and cut lemons in half. Juice them over a strainer into a large measuring cup until you have 2 cups of fresh juice.
  2. In a saucepan, combine 2 cups water and 2 cups sugar. Heat on medium-high, stirring until sugar dissolves. Do not boil. Remove from heat.
  3. Let syrup cool for 10 minutes. In a pitcher, mix the fresh lemon juice and sugar syrup. Stir well to create lemonade concentrate.
  4. To serve, fill a glass with ice. Add ⅓ concentrate and top with cold water. Stir and adjust to taste.
