Ingredients

  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 10 oz hot water
  • ½ teaspoon citric acid
  • 1 teaspoon raspberry extract
  • ½ teaspoon lemon extract
  • ½ teaspoon orange extract
  • ½ teaspoon blue food dye

Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Heatproof Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or Spoon
  • Funnel
  • Glass Jar or Bottle

Method

  1. In a heatproof bowl or large measuring cup, combine 2 cups of sugar with 10 ounces of hot water. Stir with a whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture looks clear.
  2. Sprinkle in ½ teaspoon of citric acid and stir until blended completely. This gives the syrup its tangy balance.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon raspberry extract, ½ teaspoon lemon extract, and ½ teaspoon orange extract. Stir well after each one.
  4. Stir in ½ teaspoon blue food dye until the syrup is evenly colored with no streaks.
  5. Place a funnel in a clean glass jar or bottle, pour the syrup inside, and seal with a tight lid. Let cool before using.
